Experiential Learnng?

I've so been enjoying following the blog of our students in Costa Rica. It really puts a picture to the idea of experiential learning. And, Ryan Oliver's recent commentary in the Post Gazette about the need to ensure that student learning is built upon hands-on activities and group projects so students can learn skills essential to success in the "real world". This idea of classrooms being hands-on, multi-modality active learning environments has been a core goal for me since I began teaching three years ago. Following the Costa Rica trip is inspiring me to make sure I make additional strides next trimester to move all my classes toward this type of active learning environment. That's all for now.
